Sullia: KSRTC buses collide on highway, over 20 passengers injured

Sullia, September 5, 2025: More than 20 passengers were injured in an accident involving two KSRTC buses near Adkaru on the Mani–Mysuru National Highway on Thursday.

The collision occurred near the Adkaru bus stop between a KSRTC bus traveling from Dharmasthala to Mysuru and another bus heading from Sullia towards Puttur. The injured were immediately shifted to the government hospital in Sullia for treatment.

Among the seriously injured are Anuradha, a resident of Kallugundi, who sustained head and facial injuries, and Meghana of Doddatota, who suffered head injuries. Balachandra of Peraje and Pundarika sustained injuries to the head, nose, and lips, while Zubaida suffered head and dental injuries. Ravindra from Puttur received injuries to his nose and teeth, Vidya from Madikeri suffered a head injury, and Lalitha from Halegate sustained lip and dental injuries.

Several college students were also on board, some of whom sustained minor injuries. The injured were transported to the hospital in different vehicles. KSRTC depot officials visited the hospital to check on the condition of the injured passengers. A case has been registered at the Sullia police station.
