
Sullia, Sep 4, 2013 : A KSRTC bus conductor has been arrested on the charges of raping a minor girl hailing from Sullia.
It is learnt, the accused named Nagesh who worked as a bus conductor from the Dharmasthala depot of KSRTC came into contact with the girl, a student of a college in Subrahmanya while she was travelling from Sullia to Subrahmanya daily.
The two fell in love and Nagesh had somehow lured the girl and had taken her to Bangalore where he reportedly raped her.
Later, he dropped the girl back in Subrahmanya and left for Hassan, his native place. In the meantime, her family had lodged a case of missing in Subrahmanya police station. The girl however returned home on September 1, Sunday afternoon and narrated the incident and was taken to a private hospital in Puttur for medical examination.
The accused Nagesh was subsequently arrested by Subrahmanya police on September 3, Tuesday and produced before a court in Mangalore. He has now been remanded to judicial custody. The accused is learnt to have admitted his guilt.
