Sullia: Elderly woman dies after being hit by bike near Kallugundi

Sullia, July 28, 2025: A 67-year-old woman died after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing the road near the Kallugundi post office on Sunday.

The victim has been identified as Kamala Chetkar, mother of former Sampaje Gram Panchayat president Kumar Chetmar, and a resident of Sampaje Bailu.

Sources said Kamala was crossing the road to board a bus to Sampaje when a Kerala-registered motorcycle heading toward Sullia lost control and hit her. She sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to KVG Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries despite treatment efforts.
