
Sullia, Jun 6, 2026: The Sullia Senior Civil Judge and JMFC Court has sentenced A.M. Aziz, a resident of Ajjavara, who was accused in two separate cases involving theft and escaping from police custody.
In the 2018 case registered at the Sullia Police Station for escaping from police custody (Section 224 of the IPC), the court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to one year of simple imprisonment along with a fine of ₹5,000. In default of payment of the fine, he will have to undergo an additional 45 days of simple imprisonment.
Similarly, in a theft case registered in 2006, the court convicted the accused under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC. Under Section 457, he was sentenced to three years of simple imprisonment and fined ₹5,000, with an additional 45 days of simple imprisonment in case of non-payment of the fine. Under Section 380, the court imposed another three years of simple imprisonment and a fine of ₹5,000.
