Sullia: College lecturer dies after sudden collapse

Sullia, Mar 12, 2026: A lecturer at Government First Grade College in Sullia collapsed and died on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Manju P. (42), a Kannada lecturer at the college. He was a native of Berya village in K.R. Nagar taluk of Mysuru district.

According to sources, Manju had attended college on Thursday and conducted classes until the afternoon. Later, after feeling unwell, a student accompanied him to his room on the campus, where he decided to take some rest.

Subsequently, he went to a medical store at Shriram Pete in Sullia to purchase medicines. However, he suddenly collapsed there.

Local residents immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Preliminary suspicion suggests that the death may have been caused by low blood pressure or a heart attack.

Manju had earlier served as a teacher at a government high school in K.R. Nagar for nearly 10 years. In 2024, he was appointed as a lecturer at the Government First Grade College in Sullia, where he had been serving since then.
