Sullia: Absconding accused N.M. Azeez arrested after 8 Years

Sullia, Mar 30, 2026: Police have arrested N.M. Azeez, a resident of Ajjavara village, who had been absconding for the past eight years and was wanted in multiple criminal cases.

He had been on the run in connection with a case registered at Kadaba Police Station. A conviction warrant had been issued against him, and the Karnataka High Court had sentenced him to 10 years in prison.

In 2018, Azeez had escaped after assaulting police personnel while being produced before a court in Sulya by Kerala Police. He later moved to Andhra Pradesh, where he lived under a false identity as Basavaraju, a resident of Jevargi.
