Sullia: 1 dead, 5 injured in car-container lorry collision

Sullia, June 22, 2023: One person died and five others sustained injuries in a collision between a car and a container lorry at Devarakolli near Sampaje on the Maani-Mysuru Highway on June 21, Wednesday night.

 

The deceased is Ravi of Bengaluru. The lorry driver Eshwar (42) of Kulai, car passengers Nithin, Chandrashekar, Harsha and Jagadish have been injured and hospitalized. The condition of Eshwar and Chandrashekhar is said to be serious.

The lorry was on way to Mangaluru when it suffered a brake failure and rammed into the car before overturning. Those in the car were on way to Dharmasthala from Bengaluru. Both the vehicles were badly mangled due to the impact of the collision.
