Sulia: Man sent to judicial custody for allegedly sexually harassing minor girl

Sulia, Sep 28, 2026: The family of a minor girl has lodged a complaint with the Sulia Police alleging that a man sexually harassed the child. Based on the complaint, police registered a case, conducted an investigation and produced the accused before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody.

According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Krishnakumar, allegedly went to the house when only two minor girls were present. He reportedly approached the elder girl and asked about her mother, claiming that he had to give her ₹50.

When the girls told him that their mother had gone to work, he allegedly asked for drinking water. When the girl brought him water, he is accused of holding her hand and sexually harassing her.

The girls reportedly raised an alarm, following which the accused fled from the spot.

The girl’s family subsequently approached the Sulia Police and sought legal action against Krishnakumar.

Police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, investigated the matter and produced the accused before the Sulia court. The court remanded him to judicial custody.
