Subrahmanya: 22 injured as wedding tempo overturns near Bisle Ghat

Subrahmanya, Oct 30, 2025: A tempo carrying wedding guests overturned at the Bisle Ghat curve near Kukke Subrahmanya after the driver lost control, leaving 22 people injured on Thursday.

The vehicle was heading to the Adi Subrahmanya Sabha Bhavana for a wedding between a youth from Vanagoor in Kudrasthe and a bride from Enkallu. Both the bride and groom had reportedly arrived at the venue on Wednesday, while the groom’s relatives were travelling in the tempo on Thursday.

 

 

 

Several passengers sustained serious injuries and were initially treated at the Subrahmanya Primary Health Centre before being shifted to Mangaluru in six ambulances for advanced medical care.

Police said the accident occurred when the tempo, en route to the wedding, lost control at a curve near Bisle Ghat and overturned. Many of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
