Interacting with DH, the students said that the management of Brilliant Coaching Class told them to leave Mangalore and go back to their native places because there are all signs of a communal riot rocking the city on Friday. While many students panicked and began packing their bags, many others felt that the management was making plans to pull down the shutters and run away with their money. They took up the issue with the managemen of Karavali College, which said that they have nothing to do with Brilliant Coaching Class.

Brilliant Coaching Class had collected Rs. 7000 from each student, promising to provide food and accommodation, but students complained that got stale and spoilt food and the rooms provided were shabby.

Thursday’s protest, however, turned violent when a driver employed at Karavali Group behaved rudely with the students, who lost their temper and assaulted him.

When DH reporters spoke to the Kankanady Rural Police, they denied that there was any fight in the college premises, but admitted that there were some misunderstandings between the students and the administration of the college, which were then resolved in a friendly manner. The police have not registered any case.
