Street Vendors Protection Act brings joy to CITU

 Mangalore, Sep 13, 2013 :  The CITU has expressed its pleasure over the Lok Sabha passing  the Street Vendors(Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending)Act 2012.

On September 12, Thursday, street vendors under the aegis of the CITU  gathered in front  of the Deputy Commissioner’s office to celebrate the occasion.

 

Vasanth Achari, CITU District General Secretary, said the passing of the Bill was a great relief for street vendors who were constantly subject to atrocities by the authorities in the name of eviction.

Sunil Kumar Bajal, District Honorary President of CITU,  Mohammad Mustafa, President,  BK Imtiyaz, Yogish Jeppinamogaru, DYFI leaders and several street vendors  took part in the programme.
