St. Aloysius College autonomous to hold its first graduation day

Mangalore, May 26: Rev. Fr. Swebert D’Silva, the principal of St. Aloysius College, told reporters at a press meet held at Press Club on May 26, Thursday that the first graduation ceremony of St. Aloysius College (autonomous) will be held at Loyola Hall, St. Aloysius PU College on May 28, Saturday, at 3:00 p.m.



He further said that M. Veerappa Moily, the union law minister, will be the chief guest and will deliver the graduation day address.


Rev. Fr. Francis Serrao, the president of Mangalore Jesuit Education Society (MJES), will preside over the event, and Rev. Fr. Joseph Rodrigues, the rector of St. Aloysius Institution, will grace the occasion.


The principal also said that 650 students have registered to receive their degree certificate personally at the graduation ceremony, adding that rank holders will be felicitated on the occasion. Claiming that the college focuses on providing general knowledge as well as book knowledge to the students, he said that the college is now trying to develop its museum into Mangalore Museum.


Registrar Dr. A. M. Narahari; Rev. Fr. Walter Andrade, the finance officer; and Dr. Richard Gonsalves, the co-ordinator of NAAC, were also present at the press conference.
