Sowjanya case: CID sleuths grill Belthangady SI

Belthangady, Oct 14, 2013: In a major development in the investigation into the Sowjanya rape and murder case, the CID officials have on October 14, Monday enquired the Belthangady SI Yogish Kumar. The Inspector is facing the charges of destroying main evidences  in the case.

It is learnt, the CID police   summoned the SI to the Tourists Bungalow at Belthangady where he was grilled for a few hours. The parents of Sowjanya had already complained that the preliminary investigation into the case by the SI was unsatisfactory. They have also accused the SI of destroying evidences.

The latest development comes close on the heels of a massive protest staged at Belthangady on October 13, Sunday demanding a CBI probe into the case.
