Sowjanya Case: CPI(M) demands CBI probe under Supreme Court supervision

Uppinangadi, Nov 8, 2013: “Even if Sowjanya case is handed over to CBI, the investigation must be held under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Culprits should be identified and subject to strictest punishment,” said B.M. Bhat, CPI(M) leader.

He  was speaking during the protest meet held on November 7, Thursday in order to seek a CBI probe under Supreme Court’s supervision.The meet was held at the Barya Village Panchayat Office premises.

Munir Katipalla, DYFI leader, said, “India still has a dictatorship rule despite democracy. This can be abolished only if people unite. No political leader has visited Sowjanya’s residence until date. This is a shame on their part.”

A memorandum seeking Supreme Court’s intervention to the CBI probe was submitted to the government through Pramila, president of Barya village panchayat.

Madhusudhan, Prashanth, Kiran Prabha, Pushparaj and Sukanya, leaders, were present among others.
