Southern Railway to operate special trains between Chennai and Mangaluru to clear festival rush

Mangaluru, Aug 19, 2026: The Southern Railway will operate two round trips of a festival special train (on-demand service) between Dr. MGR Chennai Central and Mangaluru Junction stations to clear the extra passenger rush.

A release from Southern Railway here said that Train No. 06127 Dr. MGR Chennai Central–Mangaluru Jn. Weekly Express Special would leave Chennai Central at 11.50 p.m. on August 21 and 28 (Fridays) to reach Mangaluru Jn. at 5 p.m. the next day.
