Mangaluru, Aug. 22, 2026: Snehalaya celebrated the festival of Onam with great enthusiasm, warmth and camaraderie on Saturday, bringing together residents and staff members in a vibrant display of unity, happiness and human values.

The celebrations began with a traditional inaugural ceremony. Ms. Manya, a staff member of Snehalaya, welcomed the gathering and extended heartfelt greetings to all present.

Snehalaya Founder and Director Brother Joseph Crasta, Co-Founder Mrs. Olivia Crasta, and Head of the Medical Department Clint Joseph highlighted the significance of Onam and conveyed their warm wishes to the residents and staff.

The programme was attended by Trustee Jovial Crasta, Snehalaya Chaplain Fr. Cyril D’Souza, Trustee Ms. Sarita Crasta, Administrative Officer Veena D’Souza and Institution In-charge Mrs. Lavita D’Souza, who added grace to the occasion with their presence.

Counsellor Jeswin proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the celebration a memorable one.

Following the formal programme, the Onam festivities gathered momentum with a series of entertaining games, fun-filled activities and friendly competitions. Residents and staff enthusiastically participated together, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter, excitement and mutual encouragement.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the traditional Onam Sadya. Residents and staff sat together and shared the festive meal served on banana leaves, enjoying a variety of authentic Onam delicacies. The communal feast reflected the true spirit of Onam, promoting equality, brotherhood, unity and the joy of sharing.

The celebration at Snehalaya was more than just a festival event. It became a meaningful occasion that strengthened relationships, fostered togetherness and celebrated the values of compassion and humanity. Filled with smiles, friendship, gratitude and love, the Onam celebration left lasting memories in the hearts of everyone who participated.
