Shyamala Bhandary creates history as first woman from DK-Udupi elected to Karnataka State Bar Council

Mangaluru, Jul 10, 2026: Senior advocate Shyamala Bhandary of Kundapur has been elected to the Karnataka State Bar Council in the recently held elections in Bengaluru.

She has created history by becoming the first woman from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts to be elected to the Karnataka State Bar Council.

A senior advocate, Shyamala Bhandary is widely known for her contributions to social causes and women’s leadership. She has earned recognition in social, educational and legal fields and has been actively associated with several organisations and institutions.

She is also serving as the President of the Karnataka State Notary Advocates Association.
