New Delhi, October 3, 2025: Shri Krishna Hegde Miyar, Group General Manager (HR) at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), has been conferred the Mahatma Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Individual Category for Social Responsibility and Social Impact.
The award was presented by Dr. Kiran Bedi, the country’s first woman IPS officer and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, along with Shri Amit Sachdeva, Gandhian, lawyer, and founder of the Mahatma Award, at a ceremony held at the India International Centre, New Delhi, on October 1.
Miyar was recognised for his outstanding contributions in formulating people-centric HR policies, integrating digital technology to enhance efficiency and impact in HR functions, fostering inclusive leadership, and spearheading Samrakshan, MRPL’s flagship CSR initiative.
The Mahatma Award, instituted in memory of Mahatma Gandhi, honours individuals and institutions committed to social responsibility, sustainability, and humanitarian service.
MRPL bags Mahatma Award for HR Excellence
Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has been awarded the Mahatma Award for HR Excellence at a function held at the India International Centre, New Delhi.
The award highlights MRPL’s initiatives in strengthening HR practices, enhancing employee welfare, and implementing impactful social responsibility programmes in its areas of operation.
The recognition was presented by Shri A. Annamalai, Director of the National Gandhi Museum, Rajghat, and Shri Amit Sachdeva, Founder of the Mahatma Award. Shri Krishna Hegde Miyar, Group General Manager (HR), Shri Sandesh J Cutinho Prabhu, Chief General Manager (Operations), and Mr. Kasiviswanadham Malla, Manager (HR), received the award on behalf of MRPL.
