Shop in Kapikad catches fire

Mangalore, Nov 2, 2012: A shop near Kapikad in Thokkottu caught fire at around 5:00 a.m. on Nov 2, Friday. A short circuit is believed to have caused it.

 

Shakthi Durga Shamiyana, run by Chandrashekar, used to rent chairs, shamiyanas, and others for special occasions. The fire destroyed a shamiyana and damaged equipment. The owner says the financial loss is around Rs. 4 lakh.

The local people informed the police and the fire service as soon as they saw the flames. It took fire fighting personnel some time to put out the fire.
