Shirva: Missing young woman found dead in river

Shirva, Oct 13, 2023: A young woman who was reported missing after she left home saying she was going to Udupi has been found dead in Papanashini river near the bridge close by the Padubelle Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple on October 13, Friday.

The deceased woman is Vinitha (22), daughter of Sadashiva Poojary of Moodubelle Kongibailu. She had left home on October 9 at 3 pm but did not return following which a missing complaint was lodged in Shirva police station.

 

 

Vinitha who was a B.Com graduate worked in an electric bike showroom near the MGM College and had quit her job just a week ago. It is said she was mentally depressed and therefore ended her life by jumping into the river from the bridge.

The body was found in a decomposed state. Malpe’s diving expert Eshwar Malpe helped retrieve the body. Shirva police are investigating the case.
