Kundapur, Jan 30, 2014 : Members of the Jaya Karnataka organisation along with parents of the students studying in the Pandeshwar Government Aided Higher Primary School at Sasthana near here gathered in large numbers outside the school on January 29, Wednesday and demanded the transfer of the headmaster of the school who was allegedly sexually harassing the female students.
There had been a complaint since long that the headmaster Parameshwar Acharya (58) who has just two more years to go for his retirement used to sexually harass the girl students both physically and mentally by making vulgar statements. It is learnt, he has been serving this school which has as many as 95 students from classes one to seven, since the past nine years.
Interestingly, the headmaster who had somehow gathered information about the protest, had cleverly abstained from duty on Wednesday. However, when the protestors who were demanding the transfer of the headmaster were unrelenting, the Brahmavar Block Education Officer Nagendra Shanbagh and Taluk Physical Education Officer Madukar rushed to the spot and persuaded the agitators to withdraw the protest by assuring to initiate necessary action after consulting with the management of the aided school.
Meanwhile, the protestors have warned of a severe agitation on January 30, Thursday if the headmaster was not transferred by then.
