Mangaluru, Feb 03, 2022: Police have busted a prostitution racket which was operating from an apartment near Attavar Nandigudde and have rescued four young women including two minor girls who are PUC students.
City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said the raid was conducted following a complaint by the Department of Women and Child Development, head of a college and a victim.
Police have also arrested a few men who were in the lodge. POCSO case and cases under different sections have been filed.
It has been gathered that the minor victims had informed their college head about the physical abuse they have suffered. It is learnt the accused had threatened to make public the video of the girls if they did not co-operate.
One of the women taken into custody is from Kerala. The minors are being counselled at the Sakhi Centre of the Women’s police station.
