Several parts of DK receive rainfall; 7 houses damaged due to strong winds, tree fall

Mangaluru, May 13, 2024: Several areas of Dakshina Kannada have received rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. Mangaluru received moderate rainfall during the wee hours of Monday.

 

Puttur, Belthangady and Sullia too received rainfall. In Puttur and Bantwal, rains accompanied by strong winds has caused some damage with trees falling over houses. As many as seven houses were damaged due to strong winds and tree falling incidents.

At Vittlapadnur in Bantwal, a school roofing was damaged due to strong winds. Rain water was seeing flowing on the road at some places.

The Weather Department had issued yellow alert since Friday.
