Seven Arrested in Connection with Multiple Stabbing Incidents Across Mangaluru

Mangaluru, May 3, 2025: In a major development, the Mangaluru City Police have arrested seven individuals in connection with three separate stabbing incidents that took place on Friday, May 2, in various parts of the city, including Ullal, Kankanady Town and Kavoor police station limits.

The first incident occurred at around 3:30 am in Kannur, under the jurisdiction of Kankanady Town Police Station, where a 39-year-old man, Naushad, was reportedly stabbed. Following swift investigation, the police arrested three suspects—Lohitashwa (32), Puneet (28), and Ganesh Prasad (23). During interrogation, the trio confessed to their involvement in another stabbing incident earlier the same day, which occurred near Thokottu at approximately 12:30 am under Ullal Police Station limits.

In a separate case later that morning, the Kavoor Police registered a complaint (Crime No. 68/2025) after Mohammed Luqman, a local fish vendor, was attacked near Derebail Konchadi at around 6:45 am. According to the complaint, a group of five to six individuals arrived in a black Innova car and assaulted Luqman using a helmet and physical blows following an altercation allegedly sparked by a dispute over taking photographs. Four accused—Likhith (29), Rakesh (34), Dhanaraj alias Dhanu, and Prashanth Shetty (26)—were taken into custody in connection with the assault.

All the arrested individuals have been produced before the court. Police have confirmed that further investigation is underway in all three cases.
