Senior MP Basheer speaks on benefits of learning Arabic

Konaje, November 7: MP E. T. Mohammed Basheer said in his inaugural address at the Educational Conference organized by Ansar Arabic College as part of its first anniversary celebrations on the theme “learn and teach in the name of the Creator” on Nov 7, Sunday that Arabic colleges are role models for all other colleges. He also stressed the benefits of learning Arabic.

Basheer, who was the former education minister of Kerala, said that the promotion of the study of Arabic in Kerala has revolutionized education and has created a generation of cultured people. He also spoke of the need to impart education with morality and culture. The demand for people who know Arabic in the job market is high, he added.

The senior MP, who is the state secretary of the Indian Union Muslim League, urged the government of Karnataka to follow the education model of Kerala, adding that this was essential in order to enhance awareness on the importance of education among the Muslim community.

MLA N. Yogish Bhat, MLA U T Khader and Coastal Development Authority Chairman B. Nagaraj Shetty were present and President of Jami’ath-e-Ahlul Hadith Baba Khan presided over the programme.
