
Mangaluru, August 30, 2026: The Karnataka government has ordered the transfer and posting of several senior IPS officers, bringing a change in leadership in the Mangaluru Western Range. R Chetan, a 2010-batch IPS officer, has been appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Mangaluru Western Range, replacing Singh.

Amit Singh, a 2007-batch Karnataka cadre IPS officer, has been transferred from his post as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mangaluru Western Range, and posted as IGP, Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP).
The transfers take effect immediately, according to the government order. Chetan will oversee police administration across the Western Range, which covers key areas of Karnataka’s coastal belt.
