Seminar on ‘Emerging Trends in Indian Politics’ held at St Agnes College

 Mangalore, Sep 7, 2013 : A two-day UGC sponsored national seminar on ‘Emerging trends in Indian politics’ was held at St Agnes College on September 6, Friday under the aegis of the Department of Political Science. Dr JS Sadananda, Chairman of the Department of Political Science, Kuvempu University, inaugurated the seminar.

In his address, Sadananda felt though the Indian political system has achieved wide acclaim, there is no denying that there was chaos as well as stability  in the political system. Changes in government have seen a changes in trends in the Indian political system, he further added.

He also spoke on the topic ‘Caste and Class in Indian Society.’ Shwetha Rao B, Assistant Director of trade policy division and a member of Ministry of Commerce in the Government of India, New Delhi, an alumnus of St Agnes institution was present at  the function, She had bagged the second rank in the Indian Economic Service examination conducted by  UPSC.
 
Dr Sr Lydia Fernandes, Joint Secretary, St Agnes College, Dr Sr M Prem D’Souza, Principal and others were present.
