
Bangalore, June 14, 2013 : Seemanth Kumar Singh, senior IPS officer and former Mangalore police commissioner and SP of Dakshina Kannada district has been appointed Commander of the Anti-Naxal Force of Karnataka.
Seemanth was transferred from Mangalore after the homestay attack case and posted DIG (Civil Rights Enforcement), Bangalore.
The post of ANF Commander had remained vacant after the transfer of its earlier incumbent Sunil Kumar during the assembly election.
Seemanth’s appointment comes in the wake of the spurt in Naxal activities in Chattisgarh and Bihar.
