Security guard beaten to death at Essel Towers

Mangalore, Feb 28, 2012: A security guard was allegedly beaten to death by a group of drunken men near Bunts Hostel on Feb 27 Monday. 

The deceased, Ganesh who hails from Hubli was on duty at Essel Towers. Six persons were waiting for him to open the gate at 11:30 p.m. As soon as he opened the gate they began beating him up for being late in arriving for duty. 

 

 

 

 

 

The police have already arrested two of the gang, one from Bunder and the other from Vamanjoor. The other four are absconding. 

Ganesh was employed as a security guard for Essel Towers a month back. Reportedly, the owner had told him to close the gates at 10:00 p.m. and not let in anybody after that time. However, the group of six was in the habit of arriving late. 

The murder is being investigated by the Kadri Police.
