Sea food factory at Baikampady gutted in fire mishap

Mangaluru, Mar 28, 2024: A seafood factory named Shiaar Enterprises at Baikampady Industrial Area was gutted in a fire mishap on March 28, Thursday morning.

 

The fire was noticed during the wee hours at around 4.45 am and the fire engulfed the entire factory in no time. Eight fire tender vehicles from MRPL and NMPT struggled to douse the fire which came under control after nearly three and a half hours of operation.

An electrical short circuit is said to be the cause of the fire. The loss has been estimated at Rs 3 crores.
