School compound wall collapse: Rs 5 lakh compensation to family of deceased girl

Mangaluru, May 29, 2024: The state government has provided a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family of a seven year old girl who died after a portion of the compound wall of the Newpadpu school of Harekala collapsed due to rains a few days ago.

 

The school famed as the Harekala Hajabba school witnessed a tragedy on May 20 when  the compound wall collapsed along with the gate and Shaziya (7) who was a third standard student and was playing nearby lost her life in the mishap. Shaziya was the daughter of Siddique – Jamila couple.

 The compensation was released as per the recommendation of Speaker U T Khader.
