Scheme of providing iron, folic acid supplements to students launched

Mangalore, July 17, 2013: DC N Prakash launched the state wide programme of distributing Folic and Iron supplements to students in the district at Government Higher Primary School, Attavar on July 17, Wednesday.

Speaking on  the occasion, Reproductive Child Health Officer Dr Rukmini said that the Iron tablets will be  distributed to 1,11,887 students of Government and Aided schools in the district, since most of them suffer from iron deficiency.

 

 

 

The tablets are distributed to students from   6th to 10th standard under the leadership of State  Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader.

Moses Jayashekar, Deputy Director, Department of Public Instructions, Asha Thimmappa Gowda, President of Zilla Panchayat Standing Committee on Education and Health and Corporator Abdul Ravoof  were present on the occasion.
