Sandesha Prathistana to organize 3-day Bharatanatyam workshop

Mangalore, Oct 30, 2012 : Fr. Vijay Victor Lobo, director of Sandesha Prathistana, announced that a 3-day workshop on Bharatanatyam, called Abhinayam, will be held at Sandesh from Nov 1 to Nov 3.

Addressing reporters, Fr. Lobo said that Bragha Besell, an internationally renowned Bharatanatyam artist from Chennai, will conduct the workshop, which will focus on the Padam aspect of Bharathanatyam.

 

 

 

The workshop is meant for students and gurus of Bharatanatyam.

The inauguration ceremony will be held on Nov 1 at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, administrator of Fr. Muller Medical College, as the chief guest and Jayalakshmi Alva, founder of Shridevi Nrithya Kendra, as the guest of honor.

Bragha Bessel will then present a live demonstration of Padam.

A concluding ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Sandesha on Nov 3, during which prizes will be distributed. The chief guest will be Chinnappa Gowda, professor of Kannada Department at Mangalore University.
