Sahyadri girls crowned champions, boys finish runner-up at VTU state-level cross country championship

Mangaluru, September 11, 2026: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru, has secured the Championship title in the Women’s category and finished as Runners-Up in the Men’s category at the 28th VTU State-Level Inter-Collegiate Cross Country Championship held at the VTU Regional Centre, Mysuru, on September 7 and 8.

The championship saw the participation of more than 228 athletes from various institutions affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).

In the Women’s section, Sahyadri athletes dominated the individual medal tally. Veeksha V won the gold medal, Saniya Shetty secured silver, and Vaishnavi Padasalagi won bronze.

The Sahyadri Women’s Cross-Country team comprised Sahithya K.P., Saniya Shetty, Veeksha V, Thrisha Shetty, Vaishnavi Padasalagi and Shreya Mohan Naik.

The Sahyadri Men’s Cross-Country team consisted of Manvith U, Adithya K.S., Pravith, Guruprasad, Pradyun and Prajwal, helping the institution finish as runners-up in the men’s category.

The management, Principal, faculty members and the Department of Physical Education & Sports congratulated the athletes for their performance and achievement at the state-level championship.
