
Mangaluru, Apr 28, 2026: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru, signed a Consultancy Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, on April 25 at the Sahyadri campus, marking a significant step towards strengthening academic excellence, industry alignment, and institutional development.
The delegation from CHRIST University included Dr. Anil Joseph Pinto, Registrar; Dr. Shrinivas Kulkarni, Head of the School of Business and Management; Dr. Vinay M, Head of the Department of Computer Science, Statistics and Data Science; and Dr. Sandhya D, Program Coordinator-BBA.
The programme began with a campus visit for the visiting dignitaries, followed by the formal MoU signing ceremony. Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director of the MBA Programme, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the vision behind the collaboration. She said that the success of an MoU is measured not just by documents, but by the success stories of students.
Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman of Sahyadri College, said the institution aspired to collaborate with the best academic partners, which led to the selection of CHRIST University. He stressed that Sahyadri gives priority to quality over quantity in student development and proposed a two-to-three-month student exchange programme to enhance learning and exposure.
He also highlighted the institution’s commitment to nurturing skilled individuals and responsible citizens for the nation. He mentioned the formal inauguration of the newly introduced BBA, BCA, and MCA programmes and invited the Vice Chancellor of CHRIST University to grace the occasion.
Dr. Anil Pinto, Registrar of CHRIST University, delivered a presentation on the university’s best practices and academic strengths and expressed happiness over the collaboration with Sahyadri.
Dr. S. S. Injaganeri, Principal of Sahyadri College, presented an overview of the institution and outlined its commitment to quality education, research, and the implementation of NEP 2020 reforms.
The MoU was formally signed and exchanged between representatives of both institutions, marking the beginning of a collaborative journey focused on the development and enhancement of BBA, BCA, and MCA programmes.
The agreement also aims to strengthen faculty competencies through training, workshops, and mentoring, while improving institutional quality through Outcome-Based Education (OBE), accreditation readiness for NAAC and NBA, and academic governance practices.
Collaborative research, student and faculty exchange, and the development of digital infrastructure and virtual learning environments are also among the key focus areas of the partnership.
