Mangaluru, November 15, 2025: Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Adyar, hosted the 50th edition of the “Viveka Vani” lecture series on Friday, featuring a thought-provoking address by Swami Tattwamayanandaji, Head of the Vedanta Society of Northern California, San Francisco.

Speaking on the theme “Vivekananda for the 21st Century Engineer,” Swamiji urged engineering students to anchor technological advancement in humanity and moral values. “Technology should serve humanity—it should never replace it,” he said, emphasizing that intelligence alone is insufficient in the modern era. He noted that Swami Vivekananda’s teachings remain timeless, guiding generations on the importance of blending ethics with innovation.

Swamiji stressed that engineers hold a significant responsibility in nation-building. “The human being behind every machine must be rooted in values; only then will technology be a blessing and not a curse,” he cautioned. Economic development, he added, must go hand in hand with moral progress to prevent inequality and instability. He called upon youth to become Karma Yogis by combining technical skills with values to help build the service-oriented India envisioned by Swami Vivekananda.
