Saffron worth Rs. 30 lakh seized at Mangalore Airport

Mangalore, Nov 3, 2012: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officers at Mangalore International Airport seized saffron worth Rs. 30 lakh on Nov 3, Saturday and arrested 2 people from Kerala. The culprits have been identified as Muhamed Ali and Ahmed Nisar, both hailing from Kasargod, Kerala.

They had arrived by Air India Express flight in the morning from Dubai. The DRI also retrieved 3000 SIM cards from them.

The directorate of revenue intelligence (DRI) is now investigating this case. The airport officials have refused to make any more comments.
