SKDRDP organises cleanliness drive in hundreds of places of worship

Mangaluru, Aug 22, 2019: At least 9,916 places of worship were cleaned during a special drive organised by Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) in Karnataka, Kerala. The cleanliness drive had been taken up for a week at the directions of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade.

Over 3,56,840 volunteers had taken part in the drive, SKDRDP executive director Dr L H Manjunath said.

The campaign was taken up in 9,476 temples, 15 basadis, 37 churches, 184 mosques and 205 other places of worship.

The drive was taken up in 31 districts, including Kasargod. A total of 1,020 places of worship were cleaned in Belagavi district, in which 34,543 volunteers had taken part, he added.
