SFI demands Govt to hand over all death cases of Belthangady to CBI probe

Mangalore, Nov 7, 2013: Student Federation of India (SFI) staged a protest in front of the DC office on November 7, Thursday demanding to hand over all 450 cases in and around Dharmasthala to the CBI.


Addressing the protesters the SFI State joint secretary Jeevan Raj Kuthar said that, 30 years ago, a teacher named Vedavalli was killed in Beltangady and no culprits were arrested in this case till date.

He also said that from past one year various associations have staged protests and demanding to hand over Sowjanya rape and murder case to the CBI, but the case was only given to CBI probe after Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade handed over letter to chief minister. 


Jeevan said that as many as 450 people have died due to unnatural death in Dharmasthala and Beltangady area, which was not been investigated. He asked whether the demand for CBI probe by various associations was not reaching the government or did they wanted only Mr Heggade’s order for it.


SFI demanded to handover all the cases from Padmalatha to Sowjanya to the CBI so that the real culprits can be traced and punished.
