Rs 5 lakh unaccounted cash seized from car at Hejamady

Padubidri, Mar 27, 2023: Police who are vigilant at checkposts in view of the upcoming Assembly elections have seized  unaccounted cash worth Rs 5 lakhs which was found in a  car at Hejamady checkpost on March 26, Sunday evening.

 

The car was heading towards Udupi from Mangaluru. The cash was found in a bag inside the tool box of the car. The cash of Rs 5 lakh was in bundles of currency notes of 500 denomination.

The police questioned the car driver Ahmed Kabeer and passenger Abdul Khader Jailani regarding the cash. However, when they did not get a satisfactory reply as well as supporting documents, the cash and car were seized.
