Rs 2.90 Lakh stolen from PWD Contractor in Udupi Town

Mangaluru, Mar 25, 2017: Thieves reportedly took  away Rs 2.90 lakh cash kept in the scooter seat of a PWD contractor. The scooter was parked near Jos Alukkas Jewelry at Maruthi Veethika in Udupi town.

Prabhakara Kotian, a resident of Katapadi Kote village had drawn Rs 3, 44, 000 from a bank located near Ajjarakadu and kept the same in the seat of his scooter and arrived at Jos Alukkas Jewelry located at  Maruthi Veethika Road in the town. Prabhakara took Rs 54, 000 from the scooter and kept remaining Rs 2, 9000,  and entered into the jewelry store. When he came back, he found that his money kept under the seat was stolen though it was locked. A complaint has been registered at Udupi police station and the police investigating the case.
