Rowdy sheeter stabbed to death in Bajpe

Mangaluru, May 1, 2025: A rowdy-sheeter was brutally murdered on Thursday evening on the old airport road at Kinnipadavu in Bajpe. The victim, identified as Suhas Shetty, was reportedly an accused in the Surathkal Muhammad Fazil murder case.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident unfolded near the Kinnipadavu market when a pickup truck carrying fish collided with a car in which Suhas Shetty was traveling, causing the vehicle to crash into a nearby barber shop. As Shetty exited the car, a group of assailants armed with blunt objects surrounded him and inflicted fatal injuries before fleeing the scene.

A video of the attack, showing the group assaulting Shetty in public, has since gone viral, heightening public concern. Locals promptly alerted the authorities and police rushed to the spot, transporting the severely injured victim to a nearby hospital.

Police sources confirmed that Suhas Shetty had a history of criminal activity, with multiple cases registered against him, including his alleged involvement in the Muhammad Fazil murder case. A rowdy sheet had been opened against him at the Bajpe police station.

Security has been tightened at the site of the incident, and the area has been cordoned off for investigation. The murder follows closely on the heels of another violent mob attack in Kudupu, leaving residents worried about rising lawlessness.
