Rowdy-sheeter Somanath externed from Udupi; shifted to Shivamogga jurisdiction

Karkala, Apr 30, 2026: Authorities have issued an externment order against a habitual offender under the Karkala Town police station limits in Udupi district, in a move to maintain law and order.

The accused, Somanath alias Somu (40), a resident of Kumbrapadavu on Tellaru Road in Kasaba village of Karkala taluk, has been externed from the district due to repeated involvement in criminal activities.

The order was issued on April 30, 2026, by the Special Executive Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police of Udupi. Police said 11 cases have been registered against him, and he is listed as a rowdy-sheeter at the Karkala Town police station.

As per the directive, Somanath has been relocated to the jurisdiction of the Tunga Nagar police station in Shivamogga district.
