
Mangalore, Feb 1, 2012: Rosario High School felicitated its 10th Std. student Siddharth Puthran for winning a medal at the national-level sports meet held recently.
Fifteen-year-old Siddharth won a bronze medal in the hammer throw event in the national-level athletics event held in Ludhiana, Punjab. He threw the hammer to a distance of 51.37m, a feat that won him the medal.






Headmaster Aloysius D’Souza honored Siddharth who was on the stage with his parents Savitha Puthran and Shivananda Puthran.
In his address, the headmaster expressed his appreciation of Siddarth who had made his school proud. He also spoke about the continuous training given by dedicated staff members, which makes it possible for the school to develop and achieve and expressed his appreciation of Karyappa, the physical education director, who trained Siddharth.
Siddharth had won gold medals at the taluk and district levels in hammer throw, discus throw, and shot put.
Rolson Pereira, who represented the state at the athletic event, and Anantha Prasad, who represented the state 200m and 400m races, were also felicitated.
Addressing the gathering, Siddharth expressed his gratefulness to his teachers and parents. Stating that his parents are continuously supporting him, he thanked his sports teacher Karyappa in a special manner. Stating that the secret of success is the encouragement of loved ones, he expressed his gratefulness to his school and said that he is proud to be a student of Rosario School.
