Roller skater kids sensitize elders on road safety

Udupi, May 26, 2013: Upadhya Roller Skating Association, Ambalpady in association with the Udupi District Police Department, Udupi Road Transport Department and the CMC organised a road safety awareness rally on May 25, Saturday.

Nearly 50 roller skaters with helmets on participated in the rally and enlightened elders on the need to wear helmets while riding bikes, as a precautionary measure.

 

 

 

 

MLA Pramod Madhwaraj who inaugurated the rally, said recklessness, giving traffic rules a go by  and refraining from wearing helmets  were responsible for many a road accidents.

Vehicle Inspector Vishwanath Nayak pointed out that most of the road accidents were the result of traffic rule violation.

Prabhudev Maane, DySP and others were present.
