Road accident kills 2 young men on the spot

Udupi, Jan 11, 2012 : Two young men died in a road accident near Mabukala Bridge on Jan 10 Tuesday at 5:30 a.m.

The deceased are Dhanush (20) of Harady and Salim (20) of Brahmavar, who were on a motorbike. The accident happened when their motorbike was hit by an unknown vehicle. The duo were thrown off and killed instantly.

The two worked at Gangolli Fisheries Port and were riding to Brahmavar from Gangolli. They were friends who studied at SMS High School in Brahmavar, but had to discontinue their studies because of financial difficulties.

 

 

Dhanush, the son of Jaya and Santhosh, has a married sister. Salim was the son of Aisha Begum and Hyder. The families are very poor, and recently the Varamballi Gram Panchayat had given a house to Salim’s parents under the Indira Awaz Scheme.

K. Jayaprakash Hegde, the former minister, entrepreneur Pramod Madhwaraj, Suryanarayana Ganiga Matapady, Rajesh Shetty Birti, Ramakrishna Harady, and many others visited the two families to offer their condolences. The Kota Police have registered a case.
