Speaking at the meeting chaired by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Social activist Govinda Prabhu said that as notified NHAI will started its new toll collection at Brahmarakotlu on Mangalore - Bangalore national highway from December 5. If the toll collection at Panemangalore does not stop, then the Vehicles from Panemangalore and surrounding areas will have to pay toll at two places.

He also said that Panemangalore bridge toll collection should be stopped since new toll booth is just five kms away from it and the public will not accept it. NHAI must close the existing toll booth before opening a new one.  If not villagers will block the national highway to mark their protest.

NHAI project director Shriram Mishra said that restriction on toll gates is separate for roads and bridges.
