Remove sun films by May 31 – IGP Prathap Reddy

Mangalore, May 17, 2012 : IGP (western range) Prathap Reddy has requested the public to remove sun films from the windscreens and windows of their vehicles by May 31.

The police department will start penalizing those caught driving vehicles with dark tinted glasses from June 1. The police will even seize the vehicles for removal of dark sun films.

The IGP has directed the traffic police department to launch awareness campaigns for the public.

The Supreme Court recently ruled that vehicle windscreens and rear glass must have 70 percent visibility and window glasses must have visibility of 50 percent.
