Release ‘innocents’ arrested in homestay attack, urges VHP, Bhajrangdal

Mangalore, Jan 13, 2013: The VHP and Bhajrangdal have submitted a memorandum to the state home minister through the DC seeking release of  ‘innocents’ who have been arrested in the homestay attack case.

The organizations have pointed out that many of those arrested in the case were either passersby or those who had been to the home stay out of curiosity They also stated that the assurance given by the home minister to drop the charges against journalist Naveen Soorinje alone  who too is arrested in the case, has hurt the sentiments of many innocents who are behind bars in the case.

Stating that the arrest of the innocents was unconstitutional the two organizations demanded their immediate release.
