Mangaluru, July 12, 2025: A 20-year-old girl from Vyasanagara, who struggled for eight months to secure an internship at her dream company but failed, has now bagged a job at the same company!
K.S. Rituparna, a sixth-semester engineering student at Sahyadri College, has been selected for a job at Rolls-Royce, USA, with an annual package of Rs 72.3 lakh. Daughter of chemist Suresh and Geetha, she currently attends online training from midnight to 6 am and participates in college classes during the day. After completing her 7th semester, she will move to Texas to join the workforce.
Initially, she aspired to become a doctor and had prepared for NEET. However, she didn’t score the expected marks and was disappointed. Encouraged by her parents, she joined the Robotics and Automation course in 2022. Reluctantly attending college at first, her life changed drastically over time.
Gold medal in the first year itself
Rituparna developed an interest in innovation during her first year. She participated in an international innovation summit held in Goa, where she won a gold medal for her project titled “Harvesting and Sprayer.” Delegates from 15 countries had taken part in the event. She also developed an app to tackle garbage disposal issues of Municipal Corporation, which earned appreciation from the former deputy commissioner.
Eight months of interviews
She underwent rigorous interviews for eight months before being selected by Rolls-Royce. She successfully completed various tasks assigned by the company, and her patience and hard work paid off.
“We’re proud of her achievement. She used to travel by government buses to college. She has proven that anything is possible through hard work,” said her father Suresh.
“This success was possible with support from my parents, family, college teachers, and friends. I didn’t expect to be selected by Rolls-Royce. Our batch is just the second one in the college. With sincere effort, I secured the job. Right now, I sleep less and work more,” said Rituparna.
